Trophy Canadian Hunting

Being hunters ourselves, we have extensive knowledge of the lake and locations for the best hunting available. We provide excellent conservation in our area, as we do not over-hunt any species. We also limit the number of guests taken each year so as not to over-harvest our area, thereby providing you with as close to a 100% successful hunt as possible.

Waterfowl - The hunting is excellent for mallard, bluebill, golden eye, & Canada geese plus a good ruffled grouse population. We offer some of the best waters in Canada for a combo trip that you will want to make year after year. Hunt ducks in the A.M. and fish in the P.M. or vice versa.

Pre-Baited Bear Hunts - Both Archery and Rifle hunts from tree stands over pre-baited working baits. We have a lot of mature trophy bear in our special leased hunting areas. Because of our minimizing & controlling hunting pressure, our bear population is excellent and so is your chance of coming home with a great trophy.

Archery Hunting at it's Finest - We are the only Lodge hunting deer in the area, we have an abundance of monster "Trophy Buck" due to no or little hunting pressure the past 25 years. 10 deer hunters will get their chance to harvest a trophy this coming season.

We Offer the Best Duck, Bear, and Deer Hunts - We do our own conservation by limiting the number of hunters that we take each season, thereby assuring that we can always offer the sportsman the best hunting avaliable. Don't write, just give me a call as I prefer to discuss the hunting personally with each and every hunter. We offer archery and gun hunts.

Camp Record Spring Bear - Weighted in at 420 pounds and was taken by a Carlyle, Illinois hunter. We truly feel you have a 100% chance of getting your bear. We hunt from portable tree stands over bait. Baits are designed for both bow hunters and rifle hunters. We will be limiting our bear hunters to ten during the fall season. We have opened up some new territory for deer which has been dormant for the last six years.

Gun Hunts - August 10th thru November 15th

Most fishermen are interested in one thing-"A Great Fishery that produces numbers as well as trophies" that's what Separation Lake has come to mean to our repeat guests-conservationists- outdoor enthusiasts & sportsmen over the last 75 years.

This lower portion of the English River has only one lodge and the only drive-to access, controlled and owned by the lodge, thereby eliminating over fishing and providing the ultimate wilderness trip of a lifetime at the very best value available.

All of our guests, plus the locals, say the west portion of the English River System, preferably Separation Lake in Ontario, is the best camp and fishery they have found.

At Separation Lake the fishing is not sporadic. It's very good to excellent during the entire season - May 15th to Oct. 1st. We are not bragging: this statement is factual or we would not say it. This is a fantastic fishery, loaded with walleye, northern and bass. And, the scenery is fantastic.

We fish shallow, 5 to 15 feet 99 percent of the season. Our water system has enough under current and weedy oxygen filled bays to maintain shallow water fishing even through July and August, when other fisheries seem to completely shut down or have to fish 60 or 80 feet deep.

Separation boasts of its excellent fishing waters. The lake has produced many 10 pound plus walleye and one of our guests took a Field & Stream prize with his 35 pound northern pike, the largest being 42 pounds in 1986. The smallmouth bass fishing is among the best to be found-many wall hangers are caught each year.
